Overview

This research essay will examine how pop culture influences the development of youth identity. The paper should explore how elements such as music, social media, fashion, film, television, celebrities, and digital trends shape young people’s beliefs, values, behavior, self-image, and social interactions. The objective is to present a well-researched, balanced, and analytical discussion supported by credible academic sources while adhering strictly to MLA formatting guidelines.

Assignment Requirements

1. Word Count:

Minimum of 500 words (excluding the Title Page and Works Cited page).

2. Formatting Style (MLA):

Follow MLA (Modern Language Association) format throughout the document.

Use 12-point Times New Roman font.

Double-space the entire paper.

Maintain 1-inch margins on all sides.

Include a running header with page numbers in the upper right corner.

Structure

The essay must include the following sections:

Title Page 

Introduction Paragraph:

Introduce the topic clearly.

Provide brief background on pop culture and youth identity.

Present a strong and focused thesis statement.

Body Paragraphs (Minimum of Three):

Analyze how different aspects of pop culture influence youth identity formation.

Research Requirements

Use a minimum of 3–5 credible academic sources (scholarly journals, books, or reputable academic websites).

Include accurate MLA in-text citations for all referenced ideas and quotations.

Paraphrasing is encouraged; limit excessive direct quotations.

Originality & Plagiarism Policy

The essay must be at least 80% original.

All borrowed ideas must be properly cited.

The final submission must be free from plagiarism.

Submission Deadline

The completed essay must be submitted no later than 20th February 2026.

Late submissions may result in penalties unless prior arrangements have been made.
